FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) -- The owner of the Carver Jones, James Harris, said the market has seen a constant flow of customers in and out Wednesday as some prepare to stock up ahead of the winter weather Friday.
"We're still going to do a little bit more shopping, but for right now we should be ok," said Porche Tolbert.
Porche Tolbert and her family are among those hitting the grocery store, shopping for food they need.
Harris said the market is anticipating even more customers like Porche on Thursday.
"The first two waves, we've seen some of that already. We're going to have really some issues tomorrow," said Harris.
Harris said he has noticed some customers overfilling their stock.
"People buying two gallons of milk when they would only buy one in normal conditions," said Harris.
With a recent snowstorm already taking waves in other parts of the country like Tennessee, Harris said the effects are already being felt hundreds of miles away.
"Nashville is a hub for our major supplies. So, already we've been told that supplies are going to be scarce," said Harris.
Despite this, some shoppers said they're trying to stay prepared.
