Monday: Monday will be cloudy, windy, and much colder with snow flurries or snow showers. Little to no accumulation is expected. IF anything sticks (And that's a big "IF")High temperatures will occur around midnight in the 50s, but most of the day will have temperatures in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s. It will also be very windy. Winds will be around 15-25 mph with gusts around 35 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 PM Monday for all of Central Alabama.

Cold Blast: High pressure will move north of Alabama between Tuesday and Thursday. This will send very cold northerly winds across the state. Tuesday may have a few snow flurries in the morning but will become mostly sunny in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s with the wind chill in the 20s.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny and cold. Highs will be in the upper 30s. Lows will be in the upper teens to lower 20s.

Next Weathermaker: The next round of precipitation arrives on Thursday night into Friday night. An area of low pressure will develop along the Northern Gulf Coast. Depending on where it tracks will make a difference on our forecast. Right now, it looks like it will move east right along the coast. This will send moisture/rain into the cold air over Alabama causing it to mix with freezing rain/sleet/snow during the morning. A light glaze is possible for the AM Commute on bridges. High temperatures will warm above freezing into the middle to upper 30s in the afternoon, and this will change the precipitation over to a cold rain. The rain could change back to some snow flurries Friday night as the low move northeast into Georgia. Lows will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Weekend Outlook: Saturday could start with a few snow flurries. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cold with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the 40s.
