Former Montgomery Youth Detention Facility employee charged with sex abuse

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A former Montgomery Youth Detention Facility employee is charged with 1st degree sex abuse.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office announced that Kentavious Miller, 32, was arrested and charged with the offense on Wednesday. Miller is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

According to court documents, the alleged crime happened during Miller's employment at the facility as a detention officer on December 15 and involved a minor.

“The Sheriff’s Office is committed to prosecuting those who take advantage of their position to harm innocent victims.  We will leverage all resources to ensure justice is carried out in this case," said Assistant Chief Wesley Richerson.

The investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
