COLUMBIANA, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested a 62-year-old man last week for alleged neglect/abuse of a disabled adult after a 69-year-old woman was charged in the same case.
According to the SCSO, it received reports in September alleging a woman with an intellectual disability was being abused by another family member serving as a caregiver. The SCSO began investigating, and a court order was obtained to remove the victim from the home while it gathered evidence.
On Dec. 10, Wilsonville resident Cora Morris was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Jail for alleged neglect/abuse of a disabled adult. She was released on a $15,000 bond. As the investigation continued, Wilsonville resident James Moss was arrested on the same charges Dec. 12 and released the same day on $15,000 bond.
