BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The woman killed in a fiery crash that shut down I-59 Tuesday morning has been identified.
52-year-old April Marie Lindsey was traveling on I-59 SB between 4th Avenue S and 1st Avenue N when she was involved in multi-vehicle crash. Lindsey, the only person in the car, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene around 7:04 am, reports the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
The crash ultimately closed the interstate for over two hours Tuesday. The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
