Monday: An unseasonably warm day is in store as highs climb into the middle to upper 60s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Rain begins to move in from the northwest overnight, with showers likely across Central Alabama late tonight.

This Week: A couple of cold fronts will push through during the first half of this week, keeping very mild air in place through the middle of this week. Highs will be in the upper 60s and near 70° Monday through Wednesday. A few rain showers are likely along the first front, forecast to push through on Monday night and early Tuesday. A few lingering rain showers are likely through Tuesday.

The second and much stronger front will come through Wednesday night, prompting numerous showers and perhaps a thunderstorm Wednesday evening and overnight. Rainfall totals will not be very impressive, only ranging from one-tenth to a half-inch of rain for all of central Alabama. The heavier totals will be across far north Alabama, where the best lift will be along these fronts.

Much colder air rushes in for the second half of this week, taking temperatures into the 50s Thursday and Friday, then only the upper 40s for next weekend, which is shaping up to be quite chilly. A few nights of below freezing temperatures will occur, beginning Saturday morning.
