ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Georgia woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Etowah County Tuesday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Janice S. Collier, 70, was killed when the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado she was driving collided head-on with a 2021 Toyota RAV4. Collier was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the impact, the Toyota left the roadway and overturned. The driver of the Toyota was injured and transported to Riverview Medical Center for treatment. Two child passengers in the Toyota were also injured and transported to local hospitals.
The crash occurred on Alabama 77 near Gallant Road, about two miles north of Attalla. No further information is available. Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
