Sunday: Much of our day will be mostly cloudy and dry before some rain showers start pushing in from our west Sunday evening then lasting into early Monday. Temperatures will be more comfortable in the middle to upper 50s.

Next Week: Southwest flow and the return of higher moisture will keep rain chances elevated from Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon. In terms of breaking it down into mainly two waves, the first arrives Sunday evening and lasts into early Monday. This should bring a widespread 0.5-1” of rain across the region. It appears we should get a break from the rain for much of the day on Monday before more showers and rumbles of thunder push in late Monday night and into early Tuesday afternoon. Overall, rainfall totals through Tuesday will range from 1-2” across much of Central Alabama.

A cold front will clear everything out of here midweek with a return to sunshine on Wednesday as temperatures fall from the middle 60s Monday and Tuesday to only the middle 40s for highs on Wednesday. Morning lows will also respond by dipping back into the middle to upper 20s on Thursday morning. Thankfully, it appears this cold shot will be very brief in respect to our recent cold spells. Temperatures quickly return to the 50s by Friday and Saturday as sunshine continues for the second half of our week.
