CLAY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 72-year-old Ashville woman was killed in a car crash in Clay County over the weekend.
On November 23, Dorothy J. Edmondson was driving on County Road 31 near Old Town Road when her car left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. State troopers said Edmondson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the car. She was taken to Clay County Hospital for treatment.
Edmondson died from her injuries the following day.
Troopers with the Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Edmondson's crash.
