BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Cooper Green Mercy Services Authority officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning at the new facility along Sixth Avenue South.
The five-story building will provide expanded services such as dental, eye care and physical rehabilitation to patients. The facility's CEO, David Randall, said it will offer better care to those who are underinsured.
"We really feel it is our mission to identify that gap and then make sure those individuals that have limited or no access to care will have a home here and get care here," Randall said.
The ambulatory facility will officially open for patients Dec. 16.
