BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A man was found shot to death inside his apartment on Jasper Road overnight in Birmingham.
According to Birmingham Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 800 block of Jasper Road around 1:30 a.m. Officers located the 52-year-old Maurice Arrinjuando Turner, shot inside his apartment about twenty minutes later.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests Turner was shot in his kitchen through the backdoor of the apartment, said Birmingham Police. A person of interest in the shooting was detained at the scene.
