Moore currently serves as the congressman for District 2 but was moved to District 1 after the Alabama congressional map was re-drawn.

In 2023, a federal court ordered state officials to implement a new congressional map that created a majority-Black district and a near-majority-Black district.

Because of this, Districts 1 and 2 were redrawn, with District 1's boundary now extending from Mobile across the Florida border to the Georgia border.
