BROOKSIDE, Ala. (WIAT) – CBS 42 is Your Voice Your Station. A Brookside resident called us for help after she said her calls to get the road leading to her home repaired went unnoticed for more than two years.
With just a few of our phone calls, the problem was immediately fixed.
A Town of Brookside representative said it doesn’t have a road department but has to work with Jefferson County officials when road projects need to get done.
Vivian Ball called us for help. She said it’s not the smoothest drive right now, but it’s a lot better than what it once was.
“After you all called it was just like that,” Ball said. “It was real, real bad for over two years, and I hate that it had to go to the news or what have you to get it fixed or what have you, but we finally can drive a little bit. It’s not the smoothest road, you all rode on it, but it’s better than what it was because it was just real bad.”
A Jefferson County official said it had patched up Main Street, but not the section of road we are reporting on for this story. This means that Brookside was able to contract out to get the work done.
