BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Polls for Election Day in Alabama closed at 7 p.m., and you can click here to view the latest election results.
Alabama voters had the option to select candidates running for president, U.S. House and chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. A statewide amendment was placed on ballots, and certain counties had local amendments up for a vote. Local positions were also contested. Certain polling places in St. Clair County had ballots that were printed without Statewide Amendment 1 and Local Amendment 1. Fifteen polling places had their voting hours extended to 9 p.m. because of the problem, and ballots with the amendments were delivered to those locations.
