BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night.
The playoff committee has Alabama ranked No. 11 as they head into Baton Rouge to take on No. 15 LSU. This season has been filled with highs and lows for Crimson Tide fans as everything looked to be perfect after defeating Georgia early in the season, 41-34. But after that game, Bama would go on to lose in a shocking upset to Vanderbilt, and a tough one to rival Tennessee. When the Crimson Tide face the Tigers Saturday, it'll be a game that'll likely eliminate one of the two teams from the playoff race.
A win against the Tigers Saturday would be its biggest road win of the season, as it will be night game in arguably college football's most hostile environment: Death Valley. Despite the two losses, the Crimson Tide are still in complete control of its destiny as Week 11 approaches and the message is simple: win out, and you're in.
