BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings release Tuesday night as Week 11 approaches.
Week 10 featured the No. 10, No. 11, and No. 13 teams falling in stunning upsets. After a big win a week ago against LSU, Texas A&M traveled to Columbia to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Gamecocks have played several ranked teams close, almost beating LSU and Alabama. They were finally able to get over the hurdle with a 44-20 win over the Aggies. LaNorris Sellers led the way with 244 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Texas Tech hit the road to face the undefeated No. 11 Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday. It was a highly contested battle between the two, and the Cyclones led, 13-10, at halftime. In a back-and-forth showcase, it was the Red Raiders who escaped with a 23-22 win. Tahj Brooks ran for 122 yards on 25 carries with a score in the win.
Louisville went into Death Valley and took down No. 11 Clemson for the first time in program history, 33-21. The Cardinals dominated the entire game. They led by 10 at the break and continued on that dominance in the second half. Isaac Brown ran for 151 yards on 20 carries. Phil Mafah led the Tiger rushing attack with 171 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.
