BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Week 10 starts Tuesday after Week 9 featured ranked teams handling their business and avoiding upsets.

No. 15 Alabama returned home after the loss to Tennessee for its homecoming matchup with No. 21 Missouri. It was a slow start for the Alabama offense, as it went into the half leading 13-0. The offense came alive in the second half, scoring 21 points. The Crimson Tide defense stifled the Tigers all game long, as it completed its second shutout of the season and won, 34-0.

After losing its first game of the season a week ago, No. 5 Texas hit the road to face No. 25 Vanderbilt in Nashville. The Commodores lost the game, 27-24, but continue to be competitive and show that it isn't the same Vanderbilt of old. Longhorn quarterback Quinn Ewers finished the game 27-of-37 with 288 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Quarterback Diego Pavia led the Commodores, throwing for 143 yards and adding 67 yards on the ground.

The top game of Week 9 was LSU traveling to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies. After a hot start in the first half with the Tigers leading 17-7 at halftime, the Aggies turned to freshman quarterback Marcel Reed. He helped ignite a spark in the offense with his arm and legs, throwing two passes for 70 yards and adding 62 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in nine carries.
