BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Alabama Department of Transportation is expecting to temporarily shut down the southbound entrance and exit ramps at the I-65 and Alabama 160 interchange Sunday night.
According to the ALDOT, the closure will commence at 8 p.m. for construction personnel to perform modifications at the intersection. Alabama 160 will be reduced to one lane in the area while work is being done. Message boards will direct drivers to alternate routes.
The ramps and Alabama 160 should fully reopen by around 5:30 a.m. Monday. The same closures, however, are scheduled from 8 p.m. Monday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The ALDOT is planning for work to start on the northbound ramp intersection later in the week but has not released additional information.
