Warming up for the weekend, but get ready for a BIG drop in temperatures next week

Tonight: Another clear, cooler, and comfortable night. Lows will be in the upper 40s to middle 50s.

Northern Lights: The Aurora Borealis is going to be visible tonight thanks to a G4 Geomagnetic Storm a few days ago. Get away from the city lights and look toward the horizon. You might be able to see them!

Tomorrow: The high pressure north of Alabama will bring us light winds, dry air, and more sunshine on Friday. It will be a tad cooler with highs in the upper 70s. Friday night will be clear and cooler with lows in the upper 40s to around 50.

Friday High School Football: the weather will be great for the games. It will be clear and cool with kickoff temperatures in the lower 70s. Temperatures will fall into the 60s during the game so you may need a sweatshirt.

Weekend Outlook: The area of high pressure will be over Alabama, and westerly winds will move over the state. This will help to warm us up ahead of a cold front. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and warm. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s on Saturday and warm up into the middle 80s on Sunday.

College Football Forecasts: It will be sunny and warm for the Alabama vs. South Carolina game at 11 AM on Saturday. Kickoff temperatures will be in the 70s, but it will warm into the 80s.

Next Week's Outlook: Get ready for a BIG drop in temperatures this week! A strong dry cold front will move across Alabama on Monday. We will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the upper 70s. Tuesday will become sunny, breezy, and MUCH cooler. Morning lows will be in the 40s and highs only in the 60s. Wednesday starts out in the upper 30s to lower 40s and highs in the 60s. Thursday and Friday will be sunny with highs in the 70s.
