Tonight: Any showers out there this evening will be gone by sunset with skies becoming mostly clear overnight. Low temperatures will drop into the middle 60s.
Weekend Outlook: A warm and dry weekend is in store with nearly a carbon copy forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. Expect partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the middle 80s. It will continue to feel a bit humid so it will feel just a few degrees warmer.

Next Week: Temperatures take a big nose dive although with our humidity as a cold front moves through on Monday night. By Tuesday morning, many areas along and north of I-20 will be in the middle to upper 50s. Complete sunshine will enter the forecast Tuesday and staying with us for the rest of next week as a surface high pressure settles over us following the passage of the cold front.

This surface high will lead to mild afternoons and cool mornings with highs in the middle to upper 70s and low temperatures deep into the 50s. It appears Thursday and Friday mornings will be our coolest temperatures of the week, when many areas drop into the upper 40s to lower 50s. This will be the coolest round of weather we’ve seen since late Spring.
Long-range guidance continues to indicate another strong cold front may plunge even cooler weather south after next weekend during the October 13-15th timeframe.

Tracking the Tropics: There is an area of disorganized storms in the western Gulf of Mexico, now increased to a 50% chance of development. With the cold front blocking much of the moisture from spreading north, this will mostly become a big rainmaker for the Florida Peninsula next week. Monitor this if you have plans to head to the Tampa, Orlando, or Miami areas. Regardless of how strong the system becomes, our weather will remain unchanged in Central Alabama.
