NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WIAT) -- Alabama will be on the road to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in an SEC matchup Saturday.
This will be the 86th matchup between the two, with Alabama leading the all time series 63-18-4, with a 23-game winning streak. The first game between Bama and Vandy dates back to 1903, and it was a dominant victory for the Commodores, 30-0. Vanderbilt won the first five meetings, with Alabama scoring a combined 14 points and Vandy scoring 165 over the meetings. The largest margin of victory came in 1906, with the 'Dores winning, 78-0.
The last time Vanderbilt beat Alabama in football was 1984, with the final score being 30-21. They were led by head coach George MacIntyre while Bama was led by Ray Perkins. Bama entered the game 1-2 with losses to Boston College and Georgia Tech. Vandy entered the game 3-0 with wins over Kansas State, Maryland and Kansas.
