SYLACUAGA, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Sylacauga Police Department announced the appointment of a new police chief Wednesday afternoon.
Rondell Muse will take as police chief following the retirement of Kelley Johnson earlier this year. According to the police department, Muse comes into the job with over 30 years of service and a track record of community engagement.
"Chief Muse brings a vision of transparency, trust, and collaboration with the community to continue building a safer and stronger Sylacauga. He is eager to work alongside the dedicated officers of our department and engage with local residents to address concerns and enhance public safety," stated a Facebook post on the Sylacauga Police Department's page.
