Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies build in overnight, bringing a few sprinkles to the southern half of the area. Otherwise, we stay dry with lows in the upper 60s.

Friday: While the muggier air sticks around, mostly cloudy skies will keep our high temperatures cooler in the lower 80s. A few showers will be around during the morning and afternoon hours, but most of us will remain dry. Expect dry conditions for the football games Friday evening.

Weekend Outlook: This weekend is shaping up to be just a touch on the warm side with highs in the middle 80s with lows in the middle 60s both Saturday and Sunday. Skies will be partly cloudy with muggy conditions continuing. However, no rain is in the forecast so that is great news for the Talladega races and the Greek Food Festival.

Next Week: A strong cold front will sweep through the entire area on Monday evening, ushering in a real shot of refreshing, Fall air. The front will not provide any rainfall though as it passes, making it a dry front. This comfortable air will be here through much of next week, bringing highs into the upper 70s even with lots of sunshine! Morning lows will be in the middle 50s by Tuesday morning, leading to multiple cool nights to follow through the rest of next week.

A surface high pressure will slowly move in behind the cold front, leading to plenty of sinking air and some blue-bird skies by the middle of next week. The weather will turn absolutely gorgeous, and long-range guidance continues to indicate several more cold fronts down the line heading into the middle of October.
