BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Friday marks one year since the shooting of Birmingham firefighter Jordan Melton at Station 9 in Norwood.
Melton died from injuries sustained in the shooting on July 17. A year later, no one has been charged in connection with the shooting.
Firefighter Jamal Jones was critically injured in the shooting as well, but survived.
In February, Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated police had identified several persons of interest in the shooting, but "were not comfortable naming any one of them as suspects yet."
Rewards for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case of Melton’s death total $46,000. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
Birmingham police will hold a news conference Friday morning at 10 a.m. to speak on the case.
