BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Monday a Gardendale man pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge in Jefferson County.
Dustin Van Faulker, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of dissemination of obscene matter depicting a person under the age of 17. Faulker was sentenced to serve five years in the Alabama Department of Corrections.
“Child exploitation has no place in our society and inflicts unimaginable pain and
suffering upon the most vulnerable among us,” Marshall said in a statement. “My office will continue to work with law enforcement across the state to identify, target, and prosecute these predators to the fullest extent of the law.”
Once Faulker completes his sentence, he must immediately register as a sex offender and meet all requirements of Alabama's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
