HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) -- Major men's college basketball programs Michigan State and Arizona are on Samford's nonconference schedule for the 2024-25 campaign.
The Bulldogs, who made the NCAA tournament last spring for the first time since 2000, will tip off the season against Mississippi College at Pete Hanna Center on Nov. 4. Samford's first road contest of the campaign will be at Cornell on Nov. 8.
Head coach Bucky McMillan and company will return to Homewood for a Nov. 12 matchup versus Rhodes College. The Bulldogs will then face North Alabama in Florence on Nov. 15 before coming home two days later to meet Texas Southern. Then, Samford will seek to pull an upset against Michigan State in East Lansing on Nov. 19.
Pete Hanna Center will hold a "multi-team event" during Thanksgiving week. Samford will compete against North Dakota State on Nov. 26, Utah Valley on Nov. 27 and West Georgia on Black Friday.
Samford will hit the road to play South Carolina State on Dec. 5 before hosting Austin Peay on Dec. 8. The big game at Arizona will be on Dec. 18, and the Bulldogs will conclude their nonconference slate at Alabama A&M on Dec. 21.
The Bulldogs will open Southern Conference competition versus The Citadel at home on New Year's Day.
