BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting that left one dead and three others injured at a Birmingham apartment complex.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, Birmingham resident Tyler Reed Sanders is charged in connection to the Sept. 2 shooting. He faces one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Sanders was one of the people injured in the shooting. BPD detectives obtained the arrest warrants on Sanders after presenting case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office on Thursday.
Sanders is in BPD custody but is receiving medical treatment at an area hospital. After discharge, he will be taken to the Jefferson County Jail. The murder charge carries no bond, while each attempted murder count has a $60,000 bond.
The shooting occurred at University Crossings apartments. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office stated Birmingham resident Lafontae Dejarris Lenard, 49, died in an apartment because of the shooting. Two other men, including Sanders, and a woman were also shot.
