TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports its troopers were in a vehicle pursuit involving a 15-year-old driver that started in Cherokee County and ended in Tuscaloosa County on Saturday.

The ALEA stated the pursuit started around 7:20 a.m. Saturday when a Centre police officer attempted to stop a Nissan Armada. The driver of the Armada did not stop, leading to a police pursuit.

The pursuit went south on U.S. 411 before continuing onto I-59. The Armada hit two civilian vehicles in Jefferson County. The pursuit concluded in Tuscaloosa County when the Armada left the road, striking a fence and building while exiting I-59 at mile marker 77. The Armada's driver fled on foot, but an ALEA trooper apprehended them.

The ALEA noted no one was injured during the pursuit, and police did not use any force. Several law enforcement agencies responded to the pursuit spanning five counties.

The 15-year-old driver of the Armada from New Market, Tennessee, was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center. The teenager is charged with felony eluding.

Troopers with the ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the pursuit.
